Easily mistaken for the Caribbean, the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters of the North West share some of the most unspoiled destinations you will find. 
     There are five local beaches to chose from between 3-8 miles north of Lochinver:

Achmelvich 
3 miles - facilities - campsite with seasonal shop and takeaway in the summer - Hermit's Castle only 1hrs walk over the hill from Lochinver 

Allt an abradhan (Mill Stream Bay)
4 miles - 20 minute walk criss-crossing a stream, hopping over stones to a secluded small bay

Clachtoll Beach
5 miles - facilities - campsite with seasonal shop and takeaway in the summer - Split Rock - Clachtoll Broch

Stoer Beach
6 miles - on the left of which, on a small peninsula you will find Clachtoll Broch 

Clashnessie Bay
8 miles - above, Clashnessie Falls a 20 minute walk on foot over some boggy ground - Highland Cattle
