Lochinver is a perfect base for enjoying the great outdoors: walking, cycling or wild water swimming. Whether experienced or new to fly fishing, sea kayaking or climbing, tuition (if needed) and equipment is available locally. There is a huge network of brown trout fishing lochs with boats to hire on them or a couple of well stocked salmon rivers. 

Not to be missed, leaving several times a day, North Coast Sea Tours sails from the harbour - the silhouette of the mountains and landscape from the sea is quite breath-taking and alone worth the trip but you might also be lucky enough to see seals, dolphins and porpoises. 

A little further north, a magical trip to Handa Island to view the thousands of birds including a colony of puffins on the sea stacks. 

Lochinver is a great place to see the Northern Lights as it is an official area of Dark Skies - best seen between September to March.
